Repair Café, Saturday, September 26, 2 to 4pm, Arbor Good Neighbor House, 2509 McDivitt Road Madison WI 53713.

On Saturday, September 26, Arbor Good Neighbor House (AGNH) is hosting a Repair Café from 2-4 p.m. Open to the community, the goal is to create connections between neighbors, keep repairable items out of landfills and to save individuals and households the replacement costs of things that can be fixed.

Repair Café is a global, neighborhood initiative that promotes repair as an alternative to tossing things out. It provides community members the opportunity to bring items from their homes that are broken or not working correctly to a space where other community member who are “handy” or have repair expertise do their best to fix what needs to be fixed at no cost.

AGNH has a talented group of resourceful volunteers who will be there with tools and sewing machines and other materials to make repairs. During previous Repair Cafés they’ve been able to fix all sorts of things; from shirts that needed mending, to lamps and computer equipment, to bikes, toys, jewelry and small electronics.

If you’ve got anything like that that needs repair or a small appliance that’s not working, a small piece of furniture that’s broken, an article of clothing or something else that you’d like our volunteers to try to repair please bring it to AGNH for Repair Café on September 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. Enjoy snacks, beverages and a fun community atmosphere! Come join us!

If you’re interested in learning more or in volunteering, email Peter Morris at peter@agnh.org, visit agnh.org or to stop by on September 26, 2-4 p.m.
