The Arriens surname has a history in the insurance business in my country, which is why I chose it as the name of my company.
What is the purpose of your business?
We want to be an insurance agency that stands out for helping our entire community with their insurance needs. For this reason, we strive to achieve the greatest benefits for our clients with all the policies we offer.
How do you feel about being in the Hub?
I’m so happy to belong to this special community. Everyone here is amazing and has wonderful qualities. Personally, I feel like I’m part of a family. I think we’ll achieve great things!

As an businessman, my main goal is to be an important asset to this nation by contributing all my work to ensure that my business generates wealth and, at the same time, well-being for the community. In the medium term, I am confident that we will achieve this.

My business is Chanell Ardor Schools of Beauty and Culture.
Is there any history behind the name chosen?
“Chanell” is my middle name, and “Ardor” means passion. I chose it because this school is truly my passion. It represents my love for the beauty industry and my commitment to helping others grow in it.
What is the purpose of your business?
The purpose of my business is to train future professionals in cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, and manicuring, while also making sure they’re culturally competent and confident in working with all hair and skin types.
How do you feel about being in the Hub?
Being in the Hub feels empowering. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by other Black-owned and community-focused businesses. The energy here is full of opportunity and purpose. It’s the perfect space to grow, collaborate, and impact lives.

My goal is to be fully accredited and recognized nationwide, not just as a beauty school but as a leader in inclusive education and cultural representation in this industry.

I was inspired by a mentor and thought I’d use this name to inspire others
What is the purpose of your business?
Empower people through beauty and haircuts. After all you feel good when you look good!
How do you feel about being in the Hub?
This feels great! It’s a perfect area to grow the business. It’s also a great place because it brings the barber culture back to the Madison neighborhood where it started.

CLIMB stands for communities learning to invest and mobilize for business. CLIMB is therefore an acronym which describes what we do.

The purpose of our business, which is a nonprofit corporation, is to provide investment education and wealth building strategies for youth and families.
How do you feel about being in the Hub
We love having our small private office at The HUB which was developed by the Urban League of Greater Madison. It literally is a hub of thriving businesses, aspiring entrepreneurs, helpful service providers, and caring community advocates. The HUB is a destination venue which facilitates networking, and it has a vibe and energy that inspires and motivates all comers.

CLIMB’s long-term vision is to normalize investing among low wealth youth and families. We are therefore endeavoring to create and lead a thriving ecosystem which will be led by CLIMB peer educators who generously and enthusiastically share their knowledge so as to ensure that everyone has an equitable opportunity to learn grow and thrive.

The Stock Market Experience is a fun, accessible and engaging opportunity for youth and adults to learn the basics of investing. Students, teachers, parents and community movers and shakers are invited to climb aboard our investment education movement. This program is free of charge and, just like investing for real, it’s all virtual. The stock market experience enrollment period is now open through June 10th. Team leader orientation sessions are May 8 and May 20th. Participants normally spend just one or two hours per week during the program which begins on June 16th and ends August 5th.
