After graduating from high school there are always thoughts of going to college and after college there are thoughts of going on to graduate school.  This does not fit everyone’s narrative; however, many take this path.

For those who go on to college, there’s appears to be a juggling act between school and self-identification.  Unfortunately, sometimes the ball is dropped.  School delayed- Life begins!  Maturity is accelerated, the needs outweigh the wants, and the direction takes a turn from the original plan.

As the years go by you play the ‘what if’ game, yet you settle for where you are. Then there’s a little voice inside of you that changes that ‘what if’ thought about the past to a ‘what if’ thought about the future.

You decide you want to return to school.  You pick up that dropped ball and now you’re juggling school and life.  You take care of your home, active at church, hold down a job and yes, you do homework for school. You’ve now become an expert at juggling.

The educational tunnel offered no light, but you kept going.  You receive encouragement from your circle of family and friends.  Many become inspired not knowing how you do what you do.  You encourage others that may have been what if thinking along the same lines and without you knowing they made a similar decision about the ‘what if’ for the future.  It’s amazing how the personal choices we make seem to show up on public radar.

Well, the shades of darkness are thinning and the light at the end of the tunnel is brightening.  Your day is here.  You are receiving your Masters in Elementary Education from Edgewood College.  What others may have called juggling- you didn’t.  As I watched you every day and night, I agree!  You didn’t juggle school and life.  You made school a part of your life.  No Juggling.  Just Living.

Congratulations on this accomplishment Tamera and the inspiration you gave to others during your journey.  In all that you do while you’re doing your living, I’m glad that I’m living with you!   You now have me saying… “What If?”
