In 1867, an institution was founded in Augusta,
Georgia, which later became known as Morehouse following its
relocation to Atlanta, GA. Morehouse College is one of the most
prestigious African American colleges in the nation.
In 1894, Paul Revere Williams, renowned architect
was born in Los Angeles, CA.
In 1896, H. Grenon patented the razor stropping
device, making razors safer to use.
In 1931, Toni Morrison was born (as Chloe Anthony
Wofford).
In 1973, Palmer Hayden, a renowned Harlem
Renaissance artist died.
